The Role

You will be able to provide services in many special interest fields, including family medicine, dermatology, Aboriginal health, mental health and chronic disease management. You are also encouraged to develop your special areas of interest. Standard consulting hours for the clinic are Monday to Friday, 8.30am to 5.30pm, leaving your weekends free. Home visit appointments can be made by prior arrangement at the discretion of the GP. The successful applicant will also be provided with the opportunity to work in the regional Hospital Emergency Department and Admitting Wards on an on-call rotating roster.

Requirements

Essential:

• MBBS or equivalent.
• Eligible for medical registration with AHPRA.
• Current emergency medicine experience.
• Able to obtain credentials as a General Practitioner in the clinical domain of GP Medicine (emergency medicine).
• Evidence of recent participation in CPD and a current CPR Certificate.

Desirable:

• 2 years post-qualification experience as a GP in a private practice/outpatient setting.
• Equivalent General Practice experience of 2 years full time in the last 5 years (3900 hours).
• Self-starter who is collaborative, with the ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Vocational Registration is desirable, but not essential.
• A postgraduate qualification relevant to general practice (e.g. Diploma of Child Health) is desirable, but not essential.

The Practice

The practice is dedicated to providing patients with a high standard of care whilst incorporating a holistic approach towards diagnosis and management of illness and injury.  You will join a team of 2 part-time GPs at the privately owned practice, providing a range of procedural and non-procedural services. You will also be supported by an experienced team of administrative and clinical staff. The practice provides a wide range of services, including:
